Update on Yesterday's Story

Well, I've learned a lot from all your replies. I've learned that I did in fact break the law and many other photographers have had experiences similar to mine.
I honestly didn't know that Horton Plaza is private property. I didn't know I had to get permission. My only excuse is that I didn't know because as a still-life photographer, the majority of photographing takes place in my home studio. Still, I was wrong and did break the law.
I am, however, saddened that our country (and world?) has come to this. And I don't know what else to do than to continue reporting like this, which I probably will if I should outside my studio.
